FARMVILLE, Va. – Two members of the HBU men's soccer team were recognized for their achievements by the Atlantic Soccer Conference last week in a 2-1 win over Longwood. Chris Dodd won his third ASC Goalkeeper of the Week award while Kristopher Tyrpak was named ASC Rookie of the Week.
Dodd, a senior from Boise, Idaho, won his second consecutive Goalkeeper of the Week honor after allowed one goal with six saves in a 2-1 conference victory over Longwood. He lowered his goals against average to 1.47 on the season and has a .725 save percentage on the year.
Tyrpak, a freshman from Dripping Springs, Texas, assisted on both HBU goals against Longwood. He leads the team with five goals and 13 points and is on a three-match scoring streak.
HBU (5-7-1, 2-0-0 ASC) will compete in its final non-conference match of the season against the Belmont Bruins (6-11) on Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7 pm. The match is also the final home contest for the Huskies so come early as the Huskies recognize their four seniors: Dodd, defenders Lorne Cameron and Andrew Collins and midfielder Duke Ogega.
