Freshman Garrett Gibson won the 400-meter hurdles and finished seventh in the 110-meter hurdles at the Southland Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Mont Belvieu, Texas, native set the program record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.11 and earned points in the 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 14.96.
