Junior righthander Zach Carter hurled his second complete game of the season in leading the Huskies to a 5-1 victory over league-leading Sam Houston State Friday night in Huntsville. The Arlington, Texas, native threw 102 pitches, holding the Bearkats to one run on four hits with six strikeouts and two walks. After giving up back-to-back doubles in the first inning, Carter shut SHSU out on two singles the rest of the way. For his efforts, he was named Southland Conference Pitcher of the Week.
