Junior outside hitter Jessica Wooten started all 11 sets, totaling 41 kills (3.73 per set), 35 digs (3.18 per set) and recording two double-doubles to help HBU to a perfect 3-0 showing inside Sharp Gym for the week. She finished with 12 kills and 13 digs against Texas Southern in the Huskies’ non-conference finale and followed with 10 kills and eight digs against Sam Houston State, eclipsing 1,000 kills for her career. Wooten closed with 19 kills and 14 digs against Lamar. Her 19-kill effort on Halloween gives her 1,028 for her career, ranking eighth all-time at HBU.
