Senior goalkeeper Patty Walrath was named Tournament MVP, as she went 2-0-1 to help women's soccer capture their first Southland Conference championship and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Walrath had a 0.58 goals-against average, a .929 save percentage, and one shutout. She had a huge save in penalty kicks against Sam Houston State Friday in the semifinals. Walrath registered 10 saves Thursday against Southeastern Louisiana, seven against SHSU, and nine against top-seed Stephen F. Austin Sunday in the championship.
