In his first-ever appearance at the Pre-Nationals last weekend, Matt Perri finished fifth overall. He ran the 8,000-meter course in a time of 24:52.3 as he stayed with the lead pack for the entire race. The Pre-Nationals, held on the same course that will host the National Championship meet on Nov. 23, boasts one of the nation's top cross country races. Perri earned Southland Conference Runner of the Week honors for the second straight week for his efforts.
