White serving as Deputy Director, Williamson’s primary responsibilities were to oversee the department’s business and operations, as well as overseeing the media relations, athletic training, marketing and corporate sales arms and serving as the sport administrator for selected programs.

A native of Ruston, Louisiana, Williamson spent seven years as the Director of Athletics at the University of West Alabama from 2011 to 2018.  While at UWA, the student-athlete graduation rate increased to 79 percent, compared to 29 percent for the UWA general student body and 56 percent for all NCAA Division II student-athletes over that same time period.  UWA also claimed its first-ever Gulf South Conference Men's All Sports Championship in 2014-15 and won more conference titles (12 GSC Championships) under Williamson's guidance than the previous 39 years of UWA athletics combined.  During his time at UWA, Williamson served in a national capacity on NCAA Division II Management Council and the NCAA Division II Football Committee.

Williamson was also the Director of Athletics at Campbell University from 2000-2011.  While at Campbell, the Camels started an NCAA Division I football program, were the Atlantic Sun Conference All Sports Champions in 2005-06 and won conference titles in men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf and men's tennis.  Williamson completed the planning, fundraising and construction of a new convocation center, football stadium, athletic training facility and track facility.  Also, during his time at Campbell, Williamson served on the NCAA Division I Legislative Council, NCAA Division I Fact-Finding Committee, NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Governance Committee, NCAA Woman of the Year Selection Committee and the NCAA Committee on Women’s Athletics including service as the Chair of the CWA.

Prior to Campbell, Williamson served as Director of Athletics at Nicholls State University from 1998 to 2000 and competed in the Southland Conference.  At Nicholls, he helped bring the New Orleans Saints training camp to campus, which bolstered the local economy by millions of dollars, and he helped increase the annual external fundraising for Colonel athletics by 29%.

Williamson is making his second stop in the city, serving as Assistant Athletic Director for Ticking and Merchandising at the University of Houston from 1994 to 1998.  Williamson later returned to Houston to serve as a consultant to Houston Christian University with their initial Football Feasibility Study done in 2011 which resulted in HCU earning an invitation to the Southland Conference and starting the HCU football program.

Williamson's intercollegiate athletics administrative career began at Georgia Southern University from 1988-94 during which time the Eagles captured two NCAA FCS Football National Championships in 1989 and 1990.  Also during that time, both the GSU Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams earned spots in the NCAA Basketball Tournament and GSU Baseball made a run to the NCAA Baseball College World Series.

Following graduation from Louisiana Tech, Williamson worked in the business world with Hibernia National Bank in New Orleans and served as Controller for Franklin Equities in Statesboro, GA prior to his time at Georgia Southern University.
