Jeff Sutton is in his first year as assistant athletic director/media relations & broadcasting and ninth overall at HCU. He is responsible for the athletic departments overall media relations efforts and as the primary contact for HCU football, women’s soccer, women’s basketball, beach volleyball and men’s and women’s track & field and cross country.
Prior to re-joining the HCU staff, Sutton worked for six-plus years on the University of Houston campus in a variety of roles, including stints in the Division of Advancement and the UH Alumni Association. During his employment at UH, he served as a gameday statistician for HCU home basketball and football games.
From 2008-10 he was on the HCU staff as the associate director of athletic media relations for one year and one year as the director of athletic media relations. Prior to HCU, Sutton spent two years as the sports information director at his alma mater, Southwestern University, after one year as assistant sports information director at the University of Texas-Pan American.
Sutton is a Houston native who earned his bachelor of arts degree from Southwestern University in 2005. He currently resides in Houston with his wife, Stephanie, step-daughter, Aven (16), and daughter, Lyanna (3). He is a member of College Sports Communicators.
