Shelby Martin-Parker has joined the Houston Christian University volleyball staff as assistant coach beginning March, 2026.
Martin-Parker comes to the Huskies after working with the LOVB Houston volleyball program. Prior to that, she served as an assistant coach at Millbrook High School in Raleigh, North Carolina for two years, where she helped lead the Wildcats to the 2022 North Carolina AAAA State title. Martin-Parker also coached club during that time at Triangle Volleyball Club in Raleigh, and she has been a National level club coach for five years.
The Waxahachie, Texas native was a setter in college, finishing her career with 4,354 assists. She was the 2017 American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year and earned second team All-AAC twice while playing for East Carolina University from 2017-19. She then spent a season at Kansas State University, where she was tabbed with second team All-Big 12 honors during the 2020/21 campaign.
After graduating from KSU, Martin-Parker spent a final season at UCLA in 2021 where she helped lead the Bruins to a No. 13 national ranking while reaching the NCAA Tournament Regional. She was an honorable-mention All-Pac 12 selection after recording 1,199 assists and ranking fourth in the league at 10.52 sets per.
Parker-Martin is married to Heath Parker and the couple has twin one-year old daughters, Charlotte and Dallas.
