Ryan Lousteau enters his first season as an assistant coach with the Huskies. He brings nearly twenty years of coaching experience to the dugout, having served as a coach on the high school, junior college, NAIA and Division I levels. Lousteau most recently served as an assistant coach to Clayton VanderLaan for three seasons at the University of St. Thomas. Â

An assistant coach for St. Thomas High School from 2009-13 under former Houston Astros legend and Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, Lousteau was instrumental in leading the Eagles to four straight state tournaments and two state titles in 2010 and 2011. He was then promoted to the head position in 2014 and continued the STHS success, leading them to a 90-20-1 record from 2016-18 including two state titles. before taking over the program in 2014.

Lousteau attended Delgado Community College, earning All-Region honors and leading the Dolphins to a conference title before matriculating to the University of New Orleans. He set the single-season record for appearances by a pitcher as a junior, then helped the Privateers to a Sun Belt championship and a berth in the LSU regional as a senior.

He began his coaching career with stops both of his collegiate alma maters, first at New Orleans and then at Delgado Community College as the assistant and recruiting coordinator where he helped the Dolphins to a NCJAA World Series appearance in 2007.

A standout player in high school, Lousteau was an All-State baseball player at Riverside Academy in Reserve, Louisiana where he helped the Rebels to a state title and was named 2A MVP. He was also an All-State quarterback.

Ryan and his wife Camille reside in Houston and have a daughter, Camille.
