Haylie Savage enters her first season as a graduate assistant coach at HCU after a stellar four-year run on the diamond for the Huskies.
 
The Angleton, Texas native is the only four-time All-Southland Conference selection in program history as well as being just the second player in school history to earn All-Conference honors four times, joining Cheri Wood who was named All-Red River from 2004-07.

She also Wood as one of just two players to amass over 200 games, 600 at-bats, 200 hits, 100 runs, 20 homers and 100 RBI. She finished her career with 201 game played, starting every game for four consecutive seasons. Savage ended her time on Beechnut Street with a .323 batting average and ranks second all-time in doubles, third in at-bats, sixth in RBI, seventh in hits and homers, eighth in walks and ninth in runs.

In addition to what she accomplished on the field, Savage also excelled in the classroom. She was also a three-time Southland Academic All-Conference selection, and earned Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors twice.

Savage graduated from HCU with a degree in Kinesiology-Wellness Management and is now pursuing her master’s degree in Business Administration.
