Andrew Shaps is in his first year as an Assistant Coach with the HCU baseball program.
He spent the last two seasons on staff at Nevada, serving as the Director of Player Development for Wolfpack. Shaps helped guide the Wolfpack to 59 wins during his two seasons in Reno that included a Mountain West Conference regular season championship in 2025.
A two-way collegiate player, Shaps played three seasons at Arizona State where he earned All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention honors in 2016. He then played one season at WIlliam Jessup and was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 31st round of the 2018 draft.
Shaps played six seasons of professional ball, spending four years in the Dodgers organization before being traded to the Detroit Tigers in 2022. He then spent one season playing for the Winnipeg Goldeyes of the American Association of Professional Baseball.
