Kaity Cummings Kent was named assistant men's and women's golf coach at HBU in July 2021.
One of the most decorated student-athletes in HBU women's golf history, Kent returned to her alma mater after spending one year as the Director of Junior Golf Instruction at The Heart of Texas Golf Academy in Waco and one year as the Assistant Golf Professional at Woodforest Golf Club in Montgomery, Texas.
Kent helped the Huskies to back-to-back Southland Conference Championships in 2017 and 2018, winning the individual conference title in 2018. She posted a career 74.94 stroke average, including the all-time program low of 73.77 during the 2018-19 season, was a four-time all-conference selection, garnering first-team honors in 2018 and 2019. Kent was also an outstanding student, earning NGCA/WGCA All-America Scholar honors four times, making the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll four times and twice being voted onto the Academic All-Conference Team. She was also named HBU's Jan Edds Female Athlete of the Year twice, was a representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma student-athlete academic honors fraternity. She graduated from HBU in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology, with a focus on sports management.
A Waco native, Kent was a four-year letterwinner at Vanguard College Prep. She led the Vikings to back-to-back TAPPS state championships, placing third and fourth at the state tournament, respectively, as a junior and sophomore.
She married Nathan Kent in December 2021.
