Freshman (2009): Stellar first season highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the discus at the GWC meet... also placed sixth in the shot put and javelin, and seventh in the hammer... at TSU Relays, recorded a lifetime best of 46.90/153-10 in the DT... seventh in the weight throw and ninth in the shot at the GWC indoor meet... set a PR of 14.02/46-0 in the weight at that meet.
High School: Fifth in the Texas 5A state meet in the discus, had a best of 180-0... runner-up at the Region III championships... also a football standout for the Hurricanes at defensive end... Personal: Mass Communications major... enjoys chess and singing... son of Roy and Cassandra Gilliam of Houston... one sister, Jeia, who is a standout youth thrower... born Jan. 9, 1990, in Houston, Texas.
