2019-20 (Junior): Dalton appeared in 27 games while making 20 starts…averaged 22.4 minutes per game with 5.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game…was second on the team with 64 assists while also adding 21 steals…scored a season-high 17 points vs. Samford (12/7)…pulled down a season-best nine rebounds at #17 Dayton (12/3)…set a career-high for assists with seven on two occasions, at Rice (12/14) and vs. Incarnate Word (1/29)…scored in double-figures five times…was the team’s top rebounder three times…shot 50 percent (13-of-26) from three-point range, 45.5 percent (50-of-110) from the field and 64.1 percent (25-of-39) from the foul line…earned NABC Honors Court recognition…named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

2018-19 (Sophomore): Dalton started the final 13 games of the season and appeared in 24 as a sophomore, averaging 20.3 minutes per game…finished the year averaging eight points and four rebounds per game while also adding 44 assists and 17 steals…shot 51.1 percent (69-of-135) from the floor and 36.1 percent (13-of-36) from three-point range…in SLC play, averaged 9.7 ppg, 4.9 rpg and 2.1 apg…in the 13 games he started, averaged 12.5 ppg and 5.5 rpg…scored a career-high 21 points on two occasions, at Central Arkansas (2/13) and at Sam Houston State (2/23)…recorded a double-double at UCA (2/13) with 21 points and a career-high 10 rebounds…also scored 20 points in two games, at Lamar (2/27) and at home against McNeese (3/2)…scored in double-figures on eight occasions…also dished out a season-high five assists against McNeese (3/2)…led the team in scoring three times and was the team’s top rebounder six times…went a perfect 3-of-3 from three and 7-of-7 from the free throw line at Lamar (2/27).

Prior to HBU: Started 27 games while appearing in 31 for Colby Community College as a redshirt freshman...led the team with four assists per game while adding 12.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest and shooting 44.8 percent from the floor and totaling 46 steals…spent a redshirt season at Akron after spending a prep school year at the South Kent School in Connecticut.

High School: Was a four-year starter at Second Baptist in Houston for coach Kevin Mouton…averaged 25 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

Personal: Full name is James Tyler Dalton…born Oct. 28, 1996, in Houston…son of Bill and Lisa Dalton…has two brothers, Clay and Blake…majoring in business marketing.
