2016: Helaire played in 11 games as a junior…made 16 tackles (3 solo)…posted a season-high four stops against Nicholls (10/15)…made three tackles at UTEP (11/5) and two tackles on four occasions…named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.

2015: Helaire appeared in all 11 games as a sophomore, making 27 tackles (12 solo) with a sack and a quarterback hurry…made four tackles in the season opener against Bethany (9/5)…had two tackles and a sack at Abilene Christian (9/19)…posted a season-high eight tackles against Incarnate Word (11/21).

2014: Played in 10 games, including one start, at defensive end as a redshirt freshman…made eight tackles (1 solo)…recorded three tackles for losses, totaling nine yards…posted a pair of sacks for losses totaling eight yards…recorded a safety…had a season-high three tackles, including two for losses and a sack for a safety, at Texas College (9/20)…also had a sack at Northern Colorado (9/13).

2013: Appeared in six games, starting the last three, making nine tackles, including three for losses…had one unassisted tackle, for a loss, at Sam Houston State…made two tackles, including one for a loss at Wayland Baptist…had two tackles against Oklahoma Baptist…made two stops, one for a loss, at Incarnate Word…had a tackle against Texas College and one against Texas A&M-Commerce.

High School: Was a three-year letterwinner at Pearland High School for coach Tony Heath…earned honorable mention honors…was a second-team all-district selection…helped Pearland to 2010 state championship.

Personal: Full name is Tyler Christen Helaire…born Nov. 3, 1995 in California…son of Jarvis Helaire and Sabrina Houston…has one younger brother, Jarvis II, and one older sister, Labrina Pulard…majoring in engineering.
