2016: Thompson appeared in all 11 games as a junior…recorded 33 tackles (12 solo) and two pass breakups…posted a career-high 14 tackles in a 27-24, overtime victory over Abilene Christian (9/17)…made six stop in a 24-17 victory at Lamar (10/29).
 
2015: Started 10 games as a sophomore, making 37 tackles (21 solo) and two pass breakups…had five tackles in the season opener against Bethany (9/5)…recorded seven tackles at Abilene Christian (9/19)…posted a season-high eight stops and broke up a pass against Central Arkansas (10/10)…made four tackles at Nicholls (10/17) and at Stephen F. 2014: Started all seven games a redshirt freshman…was fourth on the team with 57 tackles (46 solo), led the team with three interceptions and had three pass breakups and forced a fumble…made four tackles and had an interception against McMurry (9/6)…made seven tackles and had a pair of pass breakups against Abilene Christian (9/27)…posted a season-high 10 tackles and forced a fumble at Central Arkansas (10/11)…recorded six tackles and an interception in a 31-21 victory over Nicholls (10/25)…made nine tackles and returned an interception 52 yards for a touchdown at Lamar (11/1)…made nine tackles against Sam Houston State (11/15).

2013: Started all seven games, ranking fourth on the team with 43 tackles and leading the Huskies with four interceptions…made nine tackles (six solo) at Sam Houston State…had two stops and a pass breakup at Wayland Baptist…had six tackles and intercepted two passes in the red zone against Oklahoma Baptist…recorded a season-high 10 tackles, including a sack, at Incarnate Word…named College Football Performance Awards FCS National Defensive Back of the Week with two tackles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery against Texas College…returned one of the interception 46 yards for a touchdown…tallied eight tackles (seven solo) against Texas A&M-Commerce.

High School: Was a three-year letterwinner and starter at Bellville High School for coach Grady Rowe…was a two-time unanimous first-team all-district defensive back and was a first-team all-district return specialist…as a senior, made 106 total tackles, 59 solo and 47 assisted…also scored nine touchdowns to help lead the Brahmas to a state semifinal appearance…as a junior, made 97 total tackles, 65 solo and 32 assisted…had three interceptions, five touchdowns and six blocked kicks…was an AP student and member of National Society of High School Scholars.

Personal: Full name is Taylor Matthew Thompson…born May 23, 1995, in El Paso, Texas…son of Steve and Dr. Carmelita Thompson…has one younger sister, Destiny…father, Steve, played football at UTEP from 1990-1994…mother, Carmelita, played volleyball at UTEP from 1991-95…uncle, Roy Thompson, played football at Rice from 1984-88…godfather, Barron Wortham, played in the NFL from 1994-2003 with the Houston Oilers, Tennesee Titans and Dallas Cowboys…majoring in business.
