Jim Sutrick is in his second season at HCU, serving as the defensive quality control, while also working with the outside linebackers and edge rushers.
After 26 years as an air traffic control specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration, Sutrick returned to coaching full time, spending six seasons at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington, starting as the tight ends and wide receivers coach, before moving to the defensive line coach. Most recently, he spent three seasons as the defensive line coach at Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania.
Sutrick was the head football coach at Foster High School in the Tukwila School District in Washington from 2009-2012 and was a high school assistant coach for multiple schools from 1999-2009.
After graduating from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a bachelor of science in airway science in 1989, Sutrick earned a Master of sport science in athletic coaching from the United States Sports Academy in 2017.
Sutrick and his wife, Michelle, have been married 27 years and have three boys: Collin (26), Kyle (24) and Marc (21).
