James Miles is in his first season at HBU as assistant secondary coach after one season as the Huskies' defensive quality control.
Miles was previously the special teams coordinator and secondary coach at Wayne State from 2015-17. He was also a strength and conditioning intern at the University of Houston from 2014-15.
While coaching the defensive backs at Bethel University in Tennessee from 2012-14, Miles earned a Master's degree in Education in 2012.
He played four seasons at University of Mary, recording 38 tackles, four interceptions, 10 pass breakups, 14 passes defensed, a fumble recovery and a blocked kick. As a junior, Miles made 20 tackles, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, nine defensed, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in social and behavioral sciences in 2009.
A Houston native, Miles graduated from Booker T. Washington High School.
