David Crane is in his first year as Director of Football Operations at HBU, where he is primarily responsible for providing direct support to the head coach and coaching staff. His duties also include player personnel management, campus and community relations and coordinating team travel, recruiting visits and events.
Prior to returning for his second stint with the Huskies, Crane served nearly six years as an equipment manager with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Based in Las Vegas, he helped establish the first ever equipment program for the promotion, providing official outfitting for the worldwide roster and coaching personnel. Additionally, Crane travelled across the globe working events year-round, ensured athlete compliance and managed the rotating inventory of UFC Fight Kits and training gear.
Before joining UFC, Crane worked with the Houston Texans football operations staff, with similar responsibilities to his present role. He was also the compliance assistant and public address announcer at HBU from 2009-14.
A graduate of the University of Houston with a bachelor’s of science degree in kinesiology/sports administration, Crane is married to the former Shelby Horn, who played soccer at HBU. They have one daughter.
