2024: Played in the first five games of the season, making a pair of starts against #20 Tarleton State (9/7) and at UTSA (9/21)…totaled 16 tackles with 0.5 tackles for loss and one fumble recovery on the year…recorded four tackles against Tarleton…had three tackles with a fumble recovery in a win over Louisiana Christian (9/14)…also registered three tackles at SMU (8/31), at UTSA and in a win at Indiana State (9/28), a game in which he was credited with half a TFL.

Previous Schools: Mathis played his sophomore season at Trinity Valley Community College, totaling 52 tackles and a pair of sacks in 10 games…spent two seasons at Lamar, a redshirt season and a 2022 campaign in which he appeared in two games with five tackles…played at Cypress Creek High School where he led the district in sacks as a senior en route to first team all-district honors.
