2016: Wright played in nine games as a redshirt freshman...recorded 19 tackles (5 solo) and one sack…posted six tackles in a 27-24, overtime victory over Abilene Christian (9/17)…made four stops at Southeastern Louisiana (10/22)…made a sack in a 24-17 victory at Lamar (10/29).

2015: Wright redshirted his first year at HBU.

High School: Was a three-year starter at Rowlett High School for Coach Doug Stephens and Coach Charlie Camp...was a first-team all-district selection as a junior and senior and a second-team pick as a sophomore.

Personal: Full name is Avery Lamar Wright...born Aug. 2, 1997, in Denton, Texas…son of Avery Wright and LaPrincessa Booker…has two brothers, Aaron Booker and Christian Wright, and one sister, Kloe Booker…father, Avery, played cornerback at North Texas…mother, LaPrincessa, played basketball at North Texas…undecided on major.
