Biography

2015 (Senior): Played in 27 games with 13 starts...hit .277, going 13-for-47 at the plate, with two doubles, and nine runs scored...went 2-for-3 with a double and a run against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2/13)...hit a double in her final collegiate game against Abilene Christian (5/2).

2014 (Junior): Hit .217 while appeared in 31 games with 17 starts...had 13 hits, three home runs, 11 RBI, and 11 runs scored...tied her career high of three RBI twice, against Jackson State (2/9) and at Houston (4/23)...hit a game-tying home run against UH...had a double at Abilene Christian (4/26) and a triple at UTEP (2/22)...named to Southland Conference Spring Honor Roll.

2013 (Sophomore): Appeared in 16 games with 11 starts...hit .270 with 10 hits, seven runs scored, one double, one triple, one home run, and two RBI...had two hits against both Texas Southern (2/27) and Southeastern Louisiana (3/16)...her triple came against TSU, while her homer came against Bucknell (3/11)...hit .364 in just four conference games...named NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete and to Southland Spring Honor Roll.

2012 (Freshman): Started in all 49 games...led the team with a .295 batting average and was third with 41 hits...was tied for second with five doubles and second with two home runs...she also had one triple and was second on the team with 19 RBI...had six sacrifice hits and one sac fly...led the team with a .388 slugging percentage and third with a .336 on-base percentage...had six multi-hit games...went 3-for-3 against Texas Southern (3/2), then followed that with a 3-for-5 performance at UH-Victoria (3/3), where she had three RBI and one run scored...had three-straight games where she had two RBI (4/12-4/17)...named NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete.

High School: Was a four-year First Team All-District Third Baseman and Outfielder for Bellaire and head coach Brian Tuffly...she was a four-year Honorable Mention selection and a four-year team captain...she was named MVP of the Plano Tournament as a freshman and was a three-year First All-Valley Team member...a member of the National Honor Society, Granchelli earned the Top 10% Award and was named Best All-Around Student-Athlete...she played club for the Texas Storm and head coach Larry Durham.

Personal: Full name is Michaela Rose Granchelli....majoring in kinesiology and biology...born July 7, 1992, in Amherst, N.Y...daughter of Jim Jim and Julie Granchelli...has three brothers: Joseph, Patrick and James...three sisters: Re’Anne, Jaime and Victoria...twin sister Victoria also plays softball at HBU...brother James played football at Texas Lutheran University and brother Patrick also played football at Trinity University...enjoys running, swimming, reading and traveling.
