Biography

2013 (Senior): Appeared in 18 games with 11 starts in the circle...led the pitching staff with a 2.90 ERA...had a record of 5-8 and led the staff with eight complete games, two shutouts, and 78 strikeouts...walked 22...her shutouts came at Nicholls State (3/28) and against Prairie View A&M (4/23)...struck out a season-high seven batters in four games, including three straight...had a 3.68 ERA and a 2-4 record while striking out 50 and walking 13 in conference play.

2012 (Junior): Appeared in 21 games with 15 starts in the circle...she went 3-10 with a 3.61 ERA, four complete games, and one save...she struck out a team-high 73 batters...struck out a career-high 13 batters in her first HBU start, against Drake (2/24)...her only other 10+ strikeout game was at UH-Victoria (3/3), where she fanned 10...her lone save against North Dakota (3/23), as she allowed just one hit in 3.0 innings.

Before HBU: Played softball for two years at Galveston College...she threw a no-hitter in 2011 for the Whitecaps and had a 15-6 record and a 1.62 ERA...she held opponents to a .153 batting average, struck out 157 batters while walking a mere 24 in 130 innings...in 2010, she was chosen First Team All-Conference Pitcher and Second Team All-Region Pitcher.

High School: Graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate in 2009 and played for the Smitty’s Terminators 91 that play in the Manitoba Ladies Super League...she led Team Manitoba to Silver at the Western Canadian Summer Games in 2007...in 2008, Shotton won Gold and earned Most Valuable Player honors at the 18U Western Championships, which included striking out 24 batters in an eight-inning game...in 2009, she was chosen First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region...in 2010, Shotton was chosen MVP of the 18-team Canadian Championships and was also recognized as the top 18U player in Manitoba...she was selected to play on the Texas Junior College All-Star Team in 2010.

Personal: Full name is Sarah Lee Shotton...a counseling and psychology major...born June 3, 1991, in Winnipeg, Manitoba...daughter of Wayne and Christine Shotton...has one sister, Stephanie...enjoys snowboarding, snowmobiling, reading and sports.
