Box Score HOUSTON – The HCU volleyball squad made their way to the Fertitta Center today for their second game of the Flo Hyman Classic against Texas State.
Down 7-3 early in the first set, HCU mustered a rally to catch back up to the Bobcats, forcing a close set and tying the score 23-23 until Texas State rallied back to score the last two points, ending the set 25-23. In the second set, the Huskies kept a back-and-forth set until the Bobcats pulled away and closed out the set with a score of 25-19. After finding their rhythm, the Bobcats closed out the third set strong and fast, taking an early 13-1 lead, and ultimately winning the set 25-10 and the game 3-0.
Leading the Huskies in the game today was Allana Archie, who collected 8 kills and 2 blocks, while also hitting with an average of .538, the second best of the game.
The Huskies return to the Fertitta Center tomorrow, Saturday, Sep. 19 for a rematch against the UH Cougars from two weeks ago. The first serve is at 6:30 pm and the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
