INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – HCU freshman and Southland Conference individual champion
Sara Pihlajamaki will travel to Waco, Texas for the NCAA Regional hosted by Baylor at Ridgewood Country Club from May 11-13. The HCU first-year is set to tee off at 9:40 a.m. for her first round on Monday morning.
Pihlajamaki, also the Southland Conference Freshman of the Year, earns a spot in the postseason after winning the SLC title by five strokes. The freshman shot a five-under-par 211 (69-72-70) at the 2026 SLC Championships at Kissing Tree Golf Course in San Marcos, Texas.
Currently ranked 790 nationally, she owns a scoring average of 75.36 and a win/loss record of 459-314-31.
The last time any HCU women's golfer competed at an NCAA Regional was in 2018 after the Huskies won their last SLC team title.
The top five teams from each regional site and the low individual not on an advancing team will move on to the NCAA National Championship set for May 22-27 in Carlsbad, Calif.
