CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Houston Christian captured the team title at the 2026 Islanders Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday, finishing at +38 (299-297-306—902) at Corpus Christi Country Club.
The Huskies secured a four-stroke victory over UTRGV (+42) to claim the tournament championship.
Alyssa Stewart led HCU with a runner-up finish at +7 (73-73-77—223). Stewart recorded multiple birdies throughout the tournament, including a birdie on the par-4 second in the final round. She totaled 36 pars over 54 holes and was the Huskies' low scorer for the event.
Natcha Makmanee finished fourth overall at +9 (72-78-75—225). After opening with an even-par 72 in Round 1, she added a 75 in the final round, highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 15th.
Alejandra Ferrer closed at +10 (74-72-80—226). Ferrer opened the tournament with a 74 and followed with a 72 in Round 2.
Serena Churchill posted a 77 in the final round to finish at +18 (83-74-77—234), while
Abigail O'Brien finished at +20 (80-79-77—236).
Competing as individuals,
Sara Pihlajamaki finished at +13 (75-77-77—229),
Hailey Hendershott at +26 (77-82-83—242), and
Abigail Inocian at +28 (84-80-80—244).
Houston Christian returns to action March 9-10 at the Riverbend Intercollegiate in Sugar Land, Texas.
