Houston Christian University Head Coach
Ryan Pratt has announced a sixth signing for the 2025 class on Wednesday with the addition of Nygel Jobe.
Jobe will transfer to HCU following two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He led the Bulldogs to consecutive conference titles as well as a berth into the NJCAA National Tournament following his sophomore season as MGCCC went a combined 25-7-7 over his two years with the school.
A midfielder/defender from Brandon High School outside Jackson, Mississippi, Jobe scored two goals with five assists for nine points while making 13 starts in 17 games in his rookie collegiate campaign and was named honorable mention on the All-MACCC teams.
He followed that up with two goals, four assists and eight points as a sophomore while featuring in all 11 conference games and 17 of the 20 in which he saw action in. He was named with All-MACCC second-team honors following the regular season, and was named to the NJCAA All-Tournament team after leading the Bulldogs to the second round.
PRATT ON JOBE:
"Nygel will be a great compliment to our other midfielders as he is a tough, tackling ball-winner. He is also a player that moves the ball quick and simply in possession which fits our style of play both in and out of possession. He has great leadership qualities and is very competitive. We are very excited to have him joining the HCU family."
Jobe will join the Huskies in the Fall. His addition brings the 2025 recruiting class to a half dozen, as he joins previous signees:

Kacey Parrish – Midfielder / Lake Erie College
⚽️

HCU ended its second season in the Ohio Valley Conference with an 8-7-5 overall mark and 5-2-3 ledger in league play. Seven players earned postseason honors for the Huskies, including outgoing seniors
Sam Zeeman, who was chosen OVC Defensive Player of the Year and named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region team, and
Ethan Giwa-McNeil.
Ryan Okerayi and
D'Alessandro Herrera were each named to the All-Conference team for the second straight year, while goalkeeper
Alex Aitken earned All-Conference honors for the first time.
The Huskies finished ahead of Liberty, UIW and Western Illinois in their four-team pod and earn a first-round bye in the conference tournament where they handled Lindenwood in the semifinals 2-0 before falling in a heartbreaking 3-2 double-overtime loss to two-time defending champ SIUE in the title match.
The third-place finish in the league overall came one season after not qualifying for the tournament in the OVC's first season. HCU's eight wins overall were the most since 2015 team won nine matches, and also the first winning record in a season since that 2015 club. The five conference victories were the most since going 5-6 in the WAC during the 2019 season.
