FRISCO, Texas – HCU senior
Arlette Concepcion has earned the first Southland Conference Runner of the Week honor of the 2024 season following a first-place finish at the UIW Twilight this past Friday.
Concepcion paced the field on Friday, Aug. 30, at the UIW Twilight in San Antonio, Texas and won the women's 4K by more than nine seconds. Finishing in 13:44.1, her time was a PR in a 4K as she averaged a 5:31.5 mile for the race. Her average mile time was the best in the SLC on the opening weekend of the season.
Concepcion and the Huskies run again on Friday, Sept. 13, across town at the Rice Invitational with the women running first at 6:20 p.m. followed by the men at 6:50 p.m.
