MGOLF: Huskies Head to Iowa for Zach Johnson Invitational

HCU men's golf to compete in second tournament of fall season at Glen Oaks Country Club

DES MOINES, Iowa – The HCU men's golf team will compete in the Zach Johnson Invitational at Glen Oaks Country Club, a par-71 course measuring 6,950 yards. Glen Oaks has hosted the Zach Johnson Invitational since 2017. The tournament will feature a shotgun start, with teams playing 36 holes on Monday and closing with 18 holes on Tuesday.

The Huskies' lineup will include junior Roy Barrera IV, redshirt junior Brendon Willey, sophomores Benjamin Dabos and Brooks Pawlak, and junior Mason Napier.


In their previous outing, HCU finished 13th at the Kansas State Wildcat Invitational with a total score of +55. Roy Barrera IV led the team with a 22nd-place finish at +7, highlighted by birdies on two key holes.


The field at the Zach Johnson Invitational includes teams from Drake, Iowa State, Loyola-Chicago, Green Bay, North Dakota, DePaul, Murray State, Northern Iowa, Bradley, St. Thomas, Indian Hills CC, Western Illinois, and South Dakota. HCU will play their first 36 holes alongside Western Illinois and  U of North Dakota with tee-off scheduled for 8:30 a.m.


Huskies' Starting Holes:
Up next, the Huskies will compete in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, hosted by Rice University, from September 30 to October 1 at Westwood Country Club in Houston.
