EDINBURG, Texas - The HCU women's volleyball team faced off against the University of San Francisco in their opening match at the UTRGV Tournament this morning, falling in three straight sets: 13-25, 22-25, 12-25.

In the first set, San Francisco quickly took control with a service ace from Maria Petkova and a series of effective kills and errors from the huskies. Despite efforts from Cassidy Drapela and Audrey Pearce, who contributed several key kills, the Huskies struggled to keep up with San Francisco. The set concluded with San Francisco securing a 25-13 win.

The second set was a close battle, with the Huskies pushing back strongly against San Francisco's advances. HCU came out with determination, with early kills from Drapela and Pearce keeping the score close. San Francisco's Rola and Goodman continued to make an impact, but the Huskies showed resilience, led by strong performances from Pearce and Ravyn Dash. Despite a tight contest, San Francisco managed to capitalize on Houston Christian's errors and edged out a 25-22 victory.

San Francisco maintained their momentum into the third set, beginning with another service ace by Petkova and early kills from Rola.
