HCU Volleyball to Battle Northwestern State in Senior Night Showdown


 
HOUSTON, Texas - The HCU volleyball team is set to play its final home match of the season, facing off against Northwestern State this Saturday, November 9, at 6:30 p.m. in Sharp Gym. Riding high on a three-match winning streak, the Huskies have shown impressive form, recently defeating New Orleans, UIW, and East Texas A&M. 

HCU has delivered strong individual performances this season. Audrey Pearce leads the team with 283 kills, followed by Emerald Jacobs with 246 and Ana Garza with 185. Grace McLaughlin has been pivotal as the team's primary setter, accumulating 907 assists. From the service line, Bianca Byerly tops the stats with 27 aces, closely followed by Alexia Jones with 25. Defensively, Tatiana Evans anchors the back row with 377 digs, while Pearce's 110 blocks lead the team at the net, contributing to HCU's formidable front-line defense.

Northwestern State enters Saturday's match on a three-game losing streak, having recently fallen to McNeese, Texas A&M-Commerce, and UIW. Key players include Reaghan Thompson, who leads the team with 272 kills, and Teresa Garza with 258 kills. Setter Gabby Seeds has been essential to their offensive setup, totaling 623 assists. On defense, Ashlyn Svoboda holds the top spot in digs with 306, and Deja Benjamin commands the blocking stats with 103 total blocks.
