VB: Huskies Set to Host UIW

HCU Aims to Build Momentum in Final SLC Matches


 
HOUSTON, Texas - HCU Volleyball is gearing up to host UIW on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in Sharp Gym for another Southland Conference matchup, which will be broadcast on ESPN+.

In their last match on Nov. 2, HCU claimed a decisive 3-0 victory over New Orleans. The Huskies' top players have been putting up strong numbers this season, with Audrey Pearce leading in kills at 253, followed by Emerald Jacobs with 224 and Ana Garza with 170. Grace McLaughlin has excelled in assists, recording 849, with Peyton Fadal adding 69. Bianca Byerly leads in service aces with 27, supported by Alexia Jones with 21 and Tatiana Evans with 20. Defensively, Evans leads with 332 digs, while Pearce has posted 102 blocks to dominate at the net, with Garza and Allana Archie contributing 46 and 43, respectively.

UIW, coming off a tight 3-2 win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, also boasts strong team leaders. Calissa Allison leads UIW in kills with 202, followed closely by Finley Evans at 186 and Risa Sena with 184. Anuhea Faitau leads in assists at 392, while Allison has contributed 386. Allison also tops service aces with 19, and Audrey Patton leads their defense with 240 digs. At the net, Kade Thomas leads with 82 blocks, trailed by Teyhlor Thomas with 58.

The Huskies previously faced UIW on Oct. 8 in San Antonio, Texas, where they fought hard but fell 2-3. Following this match, HCU will have just four games left before the Southland Conference Tournament, set for Nov. 21-24.
