VB: Huskies Face UIW in SLC Match

HCU seeks to rebound in conference play after recent losses


 
SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The HCU volleyball team (5-10) is set to face UIW (8-6) on October 8th at 6 PM at the McDermott Center. The Huskies recently hosted matches against SFA and UTRGV, resulting in two losses: SFA (L, 0-3) and UTRGV (L, 1-3). This upcoming game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

HCU volleyball has seen standout performances from key players across various statistical categories this season. Audrey Pearce leads the team in kills with an impressive 183, followed by Ana Garza with 117 and Emerald Jacobs with 104. Grace McLaughlin dominates in assists, recording 582, while Tatiana Evans contributes 42. Bianca Byerly is the top server with 24 aces, and Evans also shines defensively, leading the team in digs with 205. In blocks, Pearce leads once again with 72, supported by Garza with 31 and Allana Archie with 26. These players have been crucial in driving the team's competitive edge this season.

UIW last faced UTRGV (L, 0-3) and Northwestern State University (W, 3-0).

UIW volleyball has seen standout efforts from several key players this season. Risa Sena leads the team in kills with 148, followed by Finley Evans with 118 and Kyla Malone with 110. Calissa Allison heads the assist category with 266, while Anuhea Faitau closely follows with 232. In service aces, Allison also leads with 13, with Faitau and Audrey Patton contributing 9 each. Defensively, Allison leads in digs with 153, followed by Patton with 144 and Sena with 127. Kade Thomas stands out in blocking with 54, supported by Teyhlor Thomas with 39. These individual efforts are crucial to the team's overall success.

Up next, the Huskies will host Lamar University at the Sharp Gym on October 12 at 11 AM.
