FRISCO, Texas – HCU junior
Arlette Concepcion has been named the Southland Conference Runner of the Week after posting the fastest time in the conference at the Huskies' season-opener in Houston on Friday.
Concepcion placed third overall, second among collegiate runners, in the 4K at the Rice Invitational on Friday, Sep. 8, evening with a time of 14:43.6. She finished seven seconds behind Rice's Amelie Attenborough and crossed the finish line 1.5 seconds ahead of Lamar's Nia Clatworthy.
HCU runs again this coming Saturday, Sep. 16, in Windcrest, Texas at the UIW Invitational/Southland Conference Preview being held at the site of the 2023 SLC Championships.
