MCALLEN, TX – The Huskies return to the UTRGV Invitational at the 5,951-yard McAllen Country Club in McAllen, TX. The tournament will be 54-holes, with 36-holes being played on Monday, March 6
th, and the final 18 on Tuesday, March 7
th. The Huskies are looking to retain their title at the UTRGV Invitational after winning the tournament in 2022.
Senior
Elise Parel leads the team line up for this week after being selected as the Southland Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for the month of February. Parel recorded an individual win at the Texas A&M Corpus Christi Islander Classic following her 7
th place finish individually at the Jacksonville Seabest Intercollegiate earlier in the month.
The Huskies will also send out junior
Lucia Allub, sophomores
Jackie Nguyen and
Lou Rousselot, and freshman
Alejandra Ferrer to complete this week's line up. Freshman
Josalyn Keller will make her first appearance for the Huskies, participating as an individual.
This year's UTRGV Invitational will be a 15-team field that will include UTRGV, HCU, Bowling Green, Creighton, Drake, Illinois-Chicago, Indiana State, Lamar, Northern Iowa, Omaha, Prairie View A&M, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and Texas Southern.
HCU will play with UTRGV and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi teeing off on holes one through three at 8:15 a.m.
