CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – HCU and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi are set for a Southland Conference men's basketball rematch this Thursday evening at the American Bank Center when the Huskies go for a season sweep of the Islanders at 7:30 p.m.

The Huskies (7-17, 4-7 SLC) and Islanders (15-9, 8-3 SLC) met in Sharp Gym on Jan. 21 with HCU winning 90-78, handing TAMUCC its largest margin of defeat to a non-Power Five opponent this season. Five different Huskies scored in double-figures in the win with Maks Klanjscek leading the way with 20 points. Freshman Andrew King dished out a career-high nine assists in the win. HCU held the Islanders to just 37.1 percent from the floor and below 30 percent from three.

Since that game, the two teams have been the exact opposite with the Huskies in the midst of a four-game losing streak while TAMUCC has won its last four. HCU's skid has included a pair of one-point heartbreakers, a 77-76 loss at Texas A&M-Commerce and a 92-91 loss at home to Nicholls this past Saturday, Feb. 4.

Klanjscek scored a season-high 24 points in the loss to Nicholls, knocking down 6-of-11 from three-point range. In his last three games, the senior is averaging 18.3 points per game and shooting 43.5 percent (10-of-23) from behind the arc.

In conference play, junior Brycen Long is eighth in the league in scoring at 16.2 ppg while Bonke Maring's 62.8 percent field goal percentage is second. King is third in the league with 5.5 assists per game in league play.

Over their last four games, the Islanders are out-scoring opponents by more than 12 ppg and most recently defeated Southeastern on the road, 83-72, to move into a three-way tie for first place.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is led by senior Trevian Tennyson at 14.9 ppg while averaging 21 ppg over the last five. Fellow senior Isaac Mushila is nearly averaging a double-double of 14.6 ppg and 9.8 rebounds per game while Terrion Murdix has been the conference's top distributor, averaging six apg  against conference opponents.

The Huskies continue on to San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 11, to take on UIW at the McDermott Convocation Center.
