JACKSONVILLE, FL – The Huskies closed out The Seabest Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Jacksonville on Tuesday in a tie for fourth following a final round 15-over par, 301 total, team score.
HCU was led by senior,
Elise Parel, who carded a final round of two-over par, 74, including five birdies on holes 1, 4, 9, 11, and 17. Parel secured a top-ten finish with a six-over par total (75-73-74-222), finishing in a tie for 7
th place individually.
Sophomore
Lou Rousselot recorded the team best round of the day for the Huskies, carding an even-par 72, including three birdies (1, 4, and 16) and an eagle at the par-5 17
th. Rouselot's finish (78-74-72-224) propelled her up the leaderboard, securing a tie for 12
th place individually.
Freshman
Alejandra Ferrer finished at 11-over par for the tournament (70-77-80-227) after a final round of 80. Ferrer, playing in her second tournament as a Husky, recorded two birdies during her final round (3 and 9) and finished in a tie for 26
th place, individually.
Rocio Comparini carded a final round of 83, bringing her tournament total to 18-over par (75-76-83-234) for a share of 45
th place individually.
Senior
Aysis Azarcon closed out her tournament with a final round of 75, recording four birdies on holes 6, 11, 15, and 17 on the day. Azarcon finished the tournament in 70
th place (91-78-75-244).
Campbell University secured the team title after a final round of 289 to finish 26-over par. Florida International finished three shots back of Campbell, with Cincinnati taking third place with a 33-over par, 897 total, 7 shots back from the lead. Campbell University's Isabella Hahne and USC Upstate's Praew Nontarux finished in a tie for first place at 1-under par, after final rounds of 69 and 67, respectfully.
HCU return to action next week at the Islander Classic hosted by Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. The Huskies finished 2
nd at the Islander Classic in 2022.
