HCU's women's golf team will open their spring championship season this week at the San Jose Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Jacksonville in Jacksonville, Fl. The 54-hole tournament will take place at the 6084-yard San Jose Country Club, with 36-holes being played on Monday, followed by 18 on Tuesday.
Ahead of the season, Coach
David Shuster commented, "the girls are playing great and ready to get back into competition. After a strong fall and a good schedule to look forward to this spring, we are ready to pick up where we left off."
HCU will be led by Senior,
Elise Parel who closed out the fall 2022 semester with an individual title at the Little Rock Women's Golf Classic, following rounds of 71, 70 and 71. Senior
Aysis Azarcon, Junior
Rocio Comparini, Sophomore
Lou Rousselot and Freshman
Alejandra Ferrer will close out this week's line up. HCU will play the first two rounds with Cincinnati and Daytona State College starting on holes four through seven.
The 14-team field includes: HCU, Campbell, Cincinnati, Daytona St. College, Eastern Kentucky, FIU, Jacksonville, ULM, Navy, Presbyterian College, Seminole State-Fl., Stetson, Wofford, and USC Upstate.
