HOUSTON – HBU fought hard in a tough loss in the final of the Molly Howard Gerwig Memorial Tournament against ULM, 3-1 (8-25, 26-28, 25-8, 19-25).
The Huskies struggled early giving up 12 straight points (12-3) in the first set. HBU was down 17-23 in the second set before rallying back to 26-26. The Huskies dominated the third set and forced a fourth set. During the fourth set, the Huskies rallied back from 11-4 deficit, but gave up six straight points to lose the match.

Grace McLaughlin led the way with 37 assists while junior libero
Kaley Feris had 18 digs. Freshman outside hitter
Cassidy Drapela had 11 kills, two digs, and one block.
Brynn Botkin led the way for ULM having 13 kills and a hitting percentage of .429%. Madeline Williams had 11 kills, five digs, and 3 blocks while Bailey Roberson recorded 33 assists and 3 blocks.
The Huskies led ULM in kills (50-43), assists (40-39), and digs (72-67).
The Huskies return to action this Friday (9/9) and next Saturday (9/10) at the Southern Miss Invitational Tournament.
