HOUSTON, TX – The Huskies will host the Lions of Texas A&M-Commerce in the final match of their three game home stand to start Southland Conference play at Sharp Gym on Tuesday, September 27
th at 6:30 p.m. Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly Houston Baptist University (HBU), underwent a name change in September 2022.
HCU (10-5, 2-0 SLC) is led by senior outside hitter
Anna Gadway with 171 kills, 39 assists, and 27 blocks on the season. Junior outside hitter
Sara Arroyo is averaging three kills per set, and a .284 attacking percentage. Redshirt freshman setter
Grace McLaughlin is leading the way with nine assists per set, and 468 assists on the year. Junior libero
Kaley Feris has 191 digs on the year and a reception percentage of .966. Freshman defensive specialist
Hazel Allen has recorded 95 digs while averaging 2.16 digs per set.
Texas A&M-Commerce (4-11, 1-1 SLC) is led by Reese Fetty with 167 kills and 128 digs on the year. Celeste Vela has dished out 487 assists on the year while Lyric Herbert has recorded 220 digs on the season and Taryn Cast leads the way with 62 blocks on the year.
