HOUSTON, TX – The Huskies will host the Lady Colonels of Nicholls in the second match of their three game home stand to start Southland Conference play at Sharp Gym on Saturday, September 24
th at 1:00 p.m. Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly Houston Baptist University (HBU), underwent a name change in September 2022.
HCU (9-5, 1-0 SLC) is led by senior outside hitter
Anna Gadway with 161 kills, 37 assists, and 26 blocks on the season. Junior outside hitter
Sara Arroyo is averaging 2.91 kills per set, and a .282 attacking percentage. Redshirt freshman setter
Grace McLaughlin is leading the way with 8.98 assists per set, and 422 assists on the year. Junior libero
Kaley Feris has 165 digs on the year and a reception percentage of .963. Freshman defensive specialist
Hazel Allen has recorded 90 digs while averaging 2.31 digs per set.
Nicholls (4-9, 1-0 SLC) is led by Devon Bright with 117 kills and averaging 3.10 points per set on the year. Lilly Bivens has dished out 243 assists on the year while Kadie Becnel has recorded 169 digs on the season and S'mara Riley leads the way with 43 blocks on the year.
