HOUSTON, TX – The Huskies will host Southeastern in the opening game of the Southland Conference volleyball season at Sharp Gym on Thursday, September 22
th at 6:30 p.m. Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly Houston Baptist University (HBU), underwent a name change in September 2022.
HCU (8-5) is led by senior outside hitter
Anna Gadway with 148 kills, 36 assists, and 25 blocks on the season. Junior outside hitter
Sara Arroyo is averaging 2.98 kills per set, and a .298 attacking percentage. Redshirt freshman setter
Grace McLaughlin is leading the way with 9.16 assists per set, and 403 assists on the year. Junior libero
Kaley Feris has 152 digs on the year and a reception percentage of .961. Freshman defensive specialist
Hazel Allen has recorded 76 digs while averaging 2.11 digs per set.
Southeastern (11-2) is led by Kailin Newsome with 154 kills and 100 digs on the year. Grace Duplechein has dished out 262 assists on the year while Ansley Tullis has recorded 180 digs on the season.
