Grace McLaughlin has career high match with 52 assists

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS – HBU split today's matches at the UTSA Invitational losing 3-2 in the first match against UTSA (14-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 11-15) and sweeping UIW in the second match in three straight sets (25-22, 25-16, 25-13).
 
The Huskies lost two straight sets to start against UTSA, but battled back and won the next two sets to send the game to five sets. Unfortunately with a 5th set loss, HBU fell to the hosts before dominating the Cardinals of UIW in straight sets splitting the first day 1-1.
 
HBU's (8-4) junior outside hitter Sara Arroyo had 29 kills on the day while adding four blocks. Sophomore middle blocker Audrey Pearce added 25 kills and seven blocks while senior outside hitter Anna Gadway had 21 kills and five blocks. Redshirt freshman Grace McLaughlin had a season high 52 assists in the first game adding 34 in the UIW match giving her 86 kills on the day. Junior libero Kaley Feris led defensively with 29 digs on the day while sophomore defensive specialists Tatiana Evans added 15 digs.

Kelsey Carpenter led the Roadrunners with 15 kills, three blocks, and six digs. Courtney Walters dished out 42 assists and two blocks while Ava Camacho had 18 digs for the Roadrunners.
 
Allison Palmi led the way for the Cardinals with 14 kills, four digs, and one blocks while Taylor Stoops led the team with 22 assists.
 
The Huskies return to action to conclude the UTSA Invitational Tournament Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against Valparaiso.
