MSOC: Huskies Take On Eastern Illinois at Home

Houston - The HBU men's soccer team returns home to face the Eastern Illinois Panthers at Sorrels Field Saturday night at 7 p.m.

The Huskies (1-3-1) return to their home pitch following a four game road trip that saw them go 1-2-1. Their most recent outing was a 2-1 loss against Northwestern State. Senior midfielder Luis Poblacion scored his first goal on the season for HBU in that contest.

The Huskies have scored nine goals this year and will be looking to add more against Eastern Illinois (1-3-1). This is the first time the Huskies and the Panthers will play against each other. D'Alessandro Herrera and Ethan Giwa-McNeil are tied for the most goals on the team with two. Alex Aitken is having a solid year so far with 34 saves through six starts for HBU.

Eastern Illinois is coming off of a loss against Dayton which saw them get shutout 2-0. EIU is led by Sam Eccles who has scored two of the Panthers four goals so far this season. Chad Smith leads the Panthers in goal with 29 saves and has one shutout.

This is the first of three consecutive matches at home for HBU. The Huskies will return to Sorrels Field next Wednesday to play Howard Payne at 6:00 p.m.
