SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS. – HBU travels to the UTSA Invitational in San Antonio, Texas Friday, September 16th and Saturday, September 17th.
HBU will start the tournament with a double header against UTSA at 12:30 p.m. and UIW at 4 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies will conclude the tournament against Valparaiso on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Huskies (7-3) are coming off a successful mid-week matchup against Prairie View A&M. The offense is guided by redshirt freshman setter
Grace McLaughlin who is averaging nine assists per set, while senior outside hitter
Anna Gadway is averaging 3.37 kills and 3.83 points per set. Sophomore middle blocker
Audrey Pearce has 23 blocks and 57 kills on the year. Junior outside hitter
Sara Arroyo has 89 kills and a .274 attacking percentage this season. Junior libero
Kaley Feris records a .957 receiving percentage and has 94 digs on the season, while sophomore outside hitter
Alexia Jones has a .923 receiving percentage and 53 digs so far. Senior middle blocker
Jada Allen has 56 kills with an attacking percentage of .333 while freshman outside hitter
Shelby O'Neal has 47 kills and 26 digs.
UTSA (3-6) is led by Cansu Gunaydin with 105 kills and 68 digs on the season. Courtney Walters has dished out 265 assists and Alicia Coppedge leads the way with 26 blocks.
UIW (1-6) is led by Allison Palmi with 65 kills and 69 digs. Taylor Stoops has assisted the team 115 times on the year while Jacqueline Arrington has recorded 19 blocks on the year.
Valparaiso (9-0) is led by Kara Cooper with 84 kills and 22 blocks. Addy Kois has dished out 193 assists while Emma Hickey leads the way defensively with 179 digs on the season.
