HBU Will Play This Saturday against Eastern Illinois at 7:00 p.m. in Sorrels Field

Evanston, Ill. - HBU men's soccer lost 2-1 to Northwestern on Monday evening at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium.

The Huskies (1-3-2) started the game with a shot that missed wide left by D'Alessandro Herrera. Shortly after, in the sixth minute, Northwestern (1-3-2) scored its first goal off the foot of Andrew Stevens. The early shot attempt by Herrera was the Huskies' only shot of the half while Alex Aitken made three saves in goal to keep the HBU deficit to one.

The Wildcats doubled their lead just 44 seconds into the second half and held that two-goal lead until the 71st minute. Senior Luis Poblacion scored his first goal of the season at the 70:04 mark to get HBU back within striking distance. Aitken made a save in the 80th minute to keep the Huskies within one while Abu Kamara had one last attempt on goal stopped at the bottom right corner in the 83rd minute.

HBU finished the game with six shot attempts, two on goal, and earned five corner kicks. Northwestern, meanwhile, put eight shots on target of 17 total attempts.

The Huskies return home this Saturday, Sep. 17, to play Eastern Illinois at 7:00 p.m. at Sorrels FIeld.
