FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference announced the 2023 football schedules Wednesday, rounding out the slate for HCU's first season under new Head Coach Braxton Harris, who was introduced on campus Tuesday.
The Huskies open the season with a non-conference matchup at home against Division III power Trinity Sept. 2 at Husky Stadium.
HCU will play four of its next five games on the road, beginning with FBS and Conference USA opponent Western Kentucky, followed by an FCS non-conference contest at UT Martin from the Ohio Valley Conference. The Huskies open Southland Conference play at defending champion Southeastern on Sept. 23, then host Lamar on Sept. 30. The stretch concludes at Nicholls on Oct. 7.
Prairie View A&M will visit Husky Stadium for the final non-conference game of the season on Oct. 14. Following the bye week, HCU returns to league play at home against Texas A&M-Commerce.
The Huskies face Northwestern State and McNeese in back-to-back road games on Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, respectively, before wrapping up the season at home against national semifinalist UIW.
