MSOC: Three Huskies Earn WAC Postseason Honors

Senior Bryant Farkarlun leads the way with second team All-WAC recognition

ARLINGTON, Texas – HCU senior Bryant Farkarlun has earned a second team all-WAC selection while Alex Aitken and D'Alessandro Herrera have been named to the league's all-freshman team announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly Houston Baptist University (HBU), underwent a name change in September 2022.

Farkarlun, hailing from Monrovia, Liberia, had a massive season for the Huskies, finishing with nine goals and five assists for 23 points. The HCU senior ranked third in the league in both points and goals and tied for eighth in assists. On the national level, he ranked 24th among all players in total points and goals. Additionally, his three game-winning goals tied for the most by any player in the WAC this season.

Aitken, a freshman keeper from Great Barford, England, closed out the season with 88 total saves for the second-highest total in a single season in program history. That total was also the fourth-most by any goalkeeper in the country this year. Aitken played all but 19 minutes in goal for the Huskies and finished with a 1.70 goals against average.

Herrera, a local Houston product, led the Huskies and tied for second in the conference with six assists on the season. He also scored three goals for a total of 12 points, tying for second-most on the squad. Herrera appeared in every game for HCU and started 17 of them.
