HOUSTON, TX – The Huskies win top of the conference battle against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders in four sets (25-21, 21-25, 31-29, 28-26). HCU split matchups against the Islanders after losing the first matchup in Corpus Christi but got redemption to even the conference series.
HCU (20-9, 12-4 SLC) was led by sophomore outside hitter
Sara Arroyo who recorded 14 kills and two digs. Senior middle blocker
Jada Allen added 13 kills and four blocks. Senior outside hitter
Anna Gadway had 11 kills, five digs, and four blocks. Sophomore middle blocker
Audrey Pearce recorded nine kills, seven digs, and two blocks while freshman outside hitter Shelby O'Neal recorded seven kills and four digs. Redshirt freshman setter
Grace McLaughlin recorded 45 assists, eight digs, and two blocks. Junior libero
Kaley Feris led the team defensively with 17 digs while freshman defensive specialist
Hazel Allen added 10 digs to the back line.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (11-19, 11-5 SLC) was led by Leah Stolfus with 23 kills, six digs, and two blocks while Kyndal Payne added 18 kills, 12 digs, and three blocks. Faith Panhans dished out 45 assists along with six digs. Carissa Barnes led the Islanders defensively with 27 digs while Zoria Heard added 11 digs to the back line.

Jada Allen as she prepared to compete for the last time as a Husky in Sharp Gym. Allen, joined by her family and friends, was recognized for her accomplishments over the past five years of being a Husky. Along with an established resume on the court. Jada has excelled academically during her time at HCU. Allen received her Bachelors degree in May of 2022, and is currently working towards her MBA.
